Since founding Prospect Research & Development Strategies in 1999, Laura A. Solla has served over 327 nonprofit clients across the U.S., Canada, and Europe - many of whom are regular or recurring customers - assisting in raising over $4.0 billion in funds for annual funds, capital campaigns, endowment funds, scholarship funds, and general operational support.

Clients range from private schools and higher education institutions, churches and faith-based nonprofits, cultural arts organizations and museums, hospital systems and health organizations, trade associations, conservation/environmental and animal rights groups, grassroots organizations, health and human services agencies, public radio and television, corporate entities, and just about everyone in between.

Laura A. Solla

Laura Solla founded Prospect Research & Development Strategies in 1999 and serves as the firm’s Principal. As a fund development consultant, she provides custom prospect profiling, wealth and asset assessment, prospect identification and capability evaluation services, prospect qualification screening, prospect management planning, and strategic services to non-profit organizations in the U.S., Canada, and U.K.

Since founding PRDS in 1999, Laura has helped more than 375 nonprofit organizations raise over $4.0 billion.

Prior to her career in fundraising, she spent eight years in corporate product marketing and marketing communications for several large international companies. She started in fundraising with the United Way of Allegheny County in Pittsburgh, PA where she worked from 1991-1999.

She is the author of “The Guide to Prospect Research & Prospect Management,” an in-depth prospect research educational tool for development professionals concentrating on prospect research and prospect management practices and using the Internet for prospect research. She has also authored, “The Guide to Analyzing Wealth and Assets,” a fundraising tool designed to educate and assist development officers with the collection and analysis of asset and wealth information on companies, foundations, and individuals for the gift request and cultivation process.

She is a recognized national presenter in the field of prospect research and prospect management, and has served as a guest speaker and trainer at numerous lectures, conferences.

Laura attended Bradford and the University of Pittsburgh, and has served on the board of APRA-Pittsburgh, AFP-Pittsburgh, and as a volunteer with the Human Society of the U.S., Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium, and The Cultural Trust in Pittsburgh. 

She resides in the Pittsburgh area with her husband, Tim, parents of daughter Shelby who resides in Brooklyn, NY. (The handsome boy in the picture is Lou, one of our 5 current rescues living their best life.)
